scubasam742 asked: hello i was writing in regards to your interaction project and would love to be part of it if it were possible. facebook. com/ScubaSam742
Thank you for your interest. Have you read the manifesto or any of the other Interactionism documents? Interactionism is a series of events which acts as a vehicle for all types of artists, or anyone with ideas they want to bring to life, to come together and create a highly interactive setting for participators to “unleash” their thinking from mass-generated groupthink, and interact in a positive environment propelled by creativity. We have several projects underway for our next event which I can inform you to see if your interest furthers. I can also add you to the email list to keep you informed about meetings, themes, collabs, etc…all the event-planning and event opening information.
Open Call for Interactionism: Metamorphosis
The theme Metamorphosis, 3rd installment of Interactionism, began with “seeds” planted by our guests from the 1st installment, Initiation. From Christopher Creath’s concept - a drop box of anonymous Q&A for viewers to answer questions pertaining to the subject matter of his paintings - we have developed a continuation project:
Chad Grant and I have composed two monologues by reconstructing the answers that participators shared in response from Creath’s questions. This written piece has been passed on to the 1st volunteer and she has translated it into her own medium. A sample of her piece was passed onto the 2nd volunteer, and he will pass his translation onto the next. Any inspired individual who would like to participate in this project is asked to translate the last piece into their own medium. Such translation will be passed again to the next artist…and so the transformation continues, thus creating a Metamorphosis of artworks.
To see other projects and conceptual developments, or join in on this upcoming springtime event, please email - ms.nocturne@gmail.com with “interactionism: metamorphosis” in the subject line.

- When I was a kid, I was heavily into the NBA. But we couldn't afford video games, so I made these paper basketball guys. I would draw their faces and jerseys-- I even drew their faces sideways so I could imitate their jump shot. Some would be wearing Jordans and Nikes and Adidas. I would ball up a piece of paper and get a hanger with a box on top for the backboard and play with them. I'd guesstimate the stats of the game and write them down, too. It was pretty intricate. That was my art.

Interactionism Manifesto
The history of the art gallery is one wrought with a stuffy and monotonous tradition of spectacle. The form of the gallery environment inculcates the viewer in a sphere of non participatory, stagnant conceit which is destined to end in thin dissatisfaction born of a veiled contempt that has been historically formulated in the age-old relationship between creator and spectator. In this construction, the audience member becomes a passive observer or critical connoisseur, torn between image presentation and dislocated in ideology, existing as mere cattle to be fed and as a certain idiot to be entertained.
It is our contention that through the coordination and facilitation of artistic events within a liberated space, that we can forgo the immolation of the observer by changing his or her experience into one that appeals for a somatic response. Using space accordingly rather than traditionally, which often generates a sterile and formulaic presentation, we are provoking a more robust cerebral experience, one which promotes divergent thinking while perpetuating a tangible connectivity. It is the fundamental orientation of our movement that disparages the sterility of standard art viewing in favor of the dynamic experience of a vibrant dialectic which takes place not only within the interior world of the observer, but through a sequence of creative acts which ultimately facilitate external expression.
Furthermore, our philosophy resides with the structures of life, and not wholly those of art, which has become decadent and overplayed by stretching common discourse into an affinity of pseudo-acceptance that would have emotionless relics displayed in front of frozen white walls. We encourage an open collaboration of all media in order to facilitate vision amid the bleak versions of normalcy, we would have you plant the petal of the violet within the lifeless pages of a black and white dictionary, if only to improve our pages with something real. As people who grace our environment, you exist as those flower petals bursting with vibrancy, and constitute the redefinition of formerly dead work into the true vitality of color that resides in interaction.

Put aside your short attention span, watch this 12 minute video and enlighten your social/cultural awareness. Or don’t… ignorance is bliss, right?
Art is absolutely everywhere you look, everywhere you venture. To know art is to have the capacity to see something a certain way. An artist sees the beauty in an object or action and translates it into a practiced craft. The result of this gift of sight inevitably manifests itself into an art form creating an awe for spectators, whether it be with words, body language, or external materials. Art is essentially life; and more specifically, “great” art can hardly be put into words, rather, appreciated with the sensual splendor of human emotion.
2012
The symbolism of celebrating New Year’s Eve is not so much for the anticipatory transition from one year to the next, but lays within the idea that the very first moments can set the tone for the momentum of remainder of the year. Thus, I manifest:
- ART LIFE show me love
- FINANCIAL FREEDOM green rain in the forecast
- LOVE LIFE keep it real
- EARTH I wanna get to know you better
- SELF set the good examples
Thanks 2011, for letting me know about the things I don’t want, because now I’m even closer to knowing exactly what I do want.
